Thank you for your interest in employment with the Santa Barbara County
Education Office (SBCEO). SBCEO provides educational programs serving
students in Special Education, Regional Occupation Programs, Juvenile Court and
Community Schools, Child Development and other related areas.
Applications
are accepted for open vacancies during the filing period indicated for
each listing and for some classifications on a continuous basis as noted.

How to apply
- Obtaining an application
- In person: Application forms may be picked up at the SBCEO Human Resources Office, 4400 Cathedral Oaks Rd., Santa Barbara, between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Directions to our office.
- On the web: You may also download the employment application (left column) in Adobe PDF. It is your responsibility to confirm that the form you print and submit is complete and the same as the one on your screen. If it is not, you may need to update your printer driver or use a postscript-enabled printer.
- By mail: We will also be happy to mail you an application. Please contact us via email or phone: (805) 964-4711, ext. 5212.

- Filling out the application - separate applications are required for each job/position. Additional material, such as your resume, letters of recommendation from previous employers, may be submitted with your application.
- Submitting the application - submit your application (and attached cover-letter and resume, if applicable) to:

- Application review
- Notification - the hiring department selects its final candidate, and the Human Resources department notifies applicants not selected.

Applications may be delivered in person or mailed but must be received at the Human Resources office by 5:00 pm of the CLOSING DATE. If the position is "OPEN UNTIL FILLED," we will continue to accept applications until the position is filled.
After the position closes, applications are screened for minimum qualifications. Applicants evidencing the strongest background in relation to the responsibilities of the position will be invited to participate in the examination process. After completing the examination process, the names of successful candidates shall be arranged on an eligibility list in the order of examination scores. The top three ranks will be contacted by the hiring department for a final interview.
